Auto-Trading Systems

Hi all

I have a pretty important question. Is it possible to make profit with Auto-Trading Systems? I have found Freedom Rocks, which offers Auto-Trading with a kind of MLM payout. Does someone have experience with it?

Thanks for your posts

Francesco

Re: Auto-Trading Systems
Hi Francesco,

I´m not familiar with Freedom Rocks and not sure what MLM means. Can you explain further.

As for the auto trading, I say yes it is possible, but like discretionary trading, it take time to master, so finding a auto trading program that is robust enough to be profitable over the years is very difficult as the market conditions are constantly changing. It can be done, but it´s certainly not easy.

Not sure if you´re aware of it but I am tracking and testing my trading system in real time on the forum

If you go there, you can see the equity curve tested over 5 yrs. It´s based on a 1 standard lot. I think it´s not bad considering the slippages are already included. Currently it´s been in real time tested (walk forward) for almost 3 months now, so far so good. It´s an example to show that there are trading systems do work, but the down side is that over the course of 2 yrs of building trading systems, I´ve only managed to come up with 3 systems that are profitable for the last year. So it´s no walk in the park.

The sum is greater than its parts.

Re: Auto-Trading Systems
MLM means Multi Level Marketing. Very often it is somekind of a pyramid scheme, and very often MLM is questionable. Consider the following: a new member has to pay a fee for becoming a member but gets no product or service in exchange. The referring member earns income from the new member's sign-up fee only but not from the actual sale of a real product or service. MGM is another term used in marketing. It means Member Gets Member for an actual product or service, just like recommending your favorite hair dresser to your friend. MGM is what you should look for. Rule of thumb: if the vendor pays a commission to the referrer, that commission should be a share of the product/service sale but no money only for the placement.

Re: Auto-Trading Systems
I've heard of pyramiding schemes but didn't know they work in trading industry as well. I have heard of High Income or something like that where they guarantee to pay out $50 a day everyday, no need to do anything except for the fee payment to become a member. Not sure if they really sucker in people or not.
