Starting out ignorant of this subject
I'm pretty sure that at the beginning of our trading adventure, we thought the only important was finding a strategy, the perfect one, the Holy Grail that would solve all our financial problems. Just when we thought we found it, something messed up our strategy, over and over again. This is when this topic became a major part of trading, not just methods and systems and strategies themselves.
The sum is greater than its parts.

Re: Starting out ignorant of this subject

A few days ago I came across a forex-site where they use horoscopes to predict trades. That sounds like a strategy!

Re: Starting out ignorant of this subject
Well, when you're desperate, you'd be willing to try anything and maybe this site was meant to attract desperate people.

Speaking of desperate, this is one psychological factor that will eventual blow out accounts. In the last act of desperation, like a typical gambler, he would throw everything into the next trade, thinking it's all or nothing now. Chances are it'll be nothing. If he hasn't won already with his system, the next trade with same system won't make it work. It appears when the trader is close to blowing out or some other events outside trading that causes this state of mind. It's usually dangerous to be in that state and trade.

The sum is greater than its parts.
